David Flores, known globally as Truncate, is a cornerstone of the Los Angeles underground who began his journey in the city's 90s DIY rave scene. After years performing as Audio Injection and serving as a key resident for the legendary Droid Behavior crew, he launched the Truncate project in 2011 to focus on a deeper, raw, and more functional side of techno. This pivot earned immediate critical acclaim from industry titans like Ben Klock and DVS1, leading to a prolific output on his own self-titled imprint and esteemed labels such as Blueprint, Token, and 50 Weapons.

Beyond his solo work, Flores is a highly sought-after collaborator and remixer, teaming up with Ben Sims as Assailants and launching the WRKTRX label to champion "jackin" club sounds. His rigorous international tour schedule includes regular appearances at Berghain, Fabric, and Movement Detroit, while his cultural influence extends into media via Grand Theft Auto and the DJs & Beers video series. Whether through his Observe event series or his relentless production schedule, Truncate remains a vital force in evolving the modern techno sound while continuing to champion his Southern California roots.
